Join Mario and MycoBee Team for Community Mushroom Farming.
2 hours workshops to show you easy and sustainable techniques how to grow mushrooms at home and in the garden.

This event is donation based, we kindly ask for minimum £1 donation to help us continue our classes at Granton Castle Walled Garden.
To book your child place, choose the date you want to attend and next choose donation amount between £1 - £25.

An introduction to fascinating world of fungi and the art of mushroom farming- fungiculture. You will discover what mushrooms are, the importance of mushrooms for us and our planet, how important mushrooms are in restoration of our soil. Mario will share with you how community mushroom farming can shift from sustainable to regenerative, restorative agriculture rejuvenating the soil and all ecosystems that rely on it.

We have 9 community mushroom growing classes this year, each workshop is teaching different growing techniques.

- Saturday, 4th April, Inoculating bags and buckets with Oyster Mushroom mycelium, cloning with cardboard tech.
- Monday, 20th April, Making outdoor mushroom beds with Wine Caps mushrooms, discussing other fungi species suitable for growing outdoor on beds.
- Wednesday, 6th May, Inoculating logs with Shiitake & Reishi mushroom mycelium
- Saturday, 30th May, Inoculating bags and buckets with Oyster Mushroom mycelium, cloning with cardboard tech.
- Tuesday, 23rd June, Mycoremediation & Mycovermicomposting
- Tuesday, 18th August, Inoculating logs with Turkey Tail mushroom mycelium
- Friday, 11th September, Inoculating bags and buckets with Oyster Mushroom mycelium, cloning with cardboard tech.

- Saturday, 14th November, Mycoremediation & Mycovermicomposting
