The Full Story
INDOOR MUSHROOM CULTIVATION
No matter what you have heard about how easy is to grow mushrooms, first you need to have is a dedicated space and from this point you can decide on what scale you want to grow. Those who grew mushrooms before, know the success depends on few ingredients but space is most important.
We are sharing with you our own experiences only.
There are many mushroom growers around and much more info available online. Each of the growers brings own unique technique, the point is to know many but apply to life what works for you. I think this is the key to mushroom growing. Learn from mushrooms and provide them right conditions to grow.
And always remember, MUSHROOMS ARE OUR BEST TEACHERS.
The First Step to Fungiculture
GROWING MUSHROOMS FROM
MUSHROOM GROW KIT
This is the easiest way to start the journey with growing mushrooms. You start your cultivation from ready to fruit inoculated with mushroom mycelium log. This is the best choice for professionals, busy people or people who simply don't want to dig deeper into mushroom farming. Ready to grow kits are widely available online, however not all explain the process of cultivation from start to end. First to remember: READY TO GROW KIT MOST OF THE TIMES CONTAINS LIVING MYCELIUM AND HAS TO BE OPEN AND CULTIVATED AS SOON AS PURCHASED, OR STORED IN REFRIGERATOR OR ADVISED OTHERWISE BY PRODUCER.
Many sellers and mushroom growers seem to forget this important fact and do not attach this info. We made the same mistakes at the beginning of our journey. In defense of mushroom growers and sellers, they are so deeply into mushroom world, they sometimes do not realise, people don't know much about mushrooms.
We highly recommend to start your journey with mushroom growing from ready to grow bags or logs.
You purchase your grow kit
You receive your grow kit
You start growing
In just 7-10 days you can enjoy eating your own cultivated mushrooms
Best if you follow each supplier instructions, however we are happy to advise if you have any questions.
This is the part when you get excited and want more...
The Second Step to Fungiculture
GROWING MUSHROOMS ON STRAW
You don't have to grow mushrooms before to start growing them on straw. You can easily skip The First Step and explore The Second Step as a beginner. Growing mushrooms on straw is one of the most sustainable and cheapest mushroom growing methods. This method involves two days of work, space, equipment, mushroom substrate and mushroom spawn. At this point we are going deeper into mushroom world and we begin to learn from them. Yes, mushrooms are our teachers and the only teachers on mushroom growing journey.
Every mushroom grower should visit forest and observe the wildlife before they even think of growing mushrooms. Forest, Trees and Mushrooms will show us what they need to grow, we just need to open to their wisdom.
With those thoughts, we would like to honour John Muir and his wise words 'and into the forest I go, to find my mind and lose my soul'
We would like to share with you one of a kind 2 days experience of Forest&Farm Fusion Adventure. CLASSES START END OF MARCH 2022!
